Objective

Reel Authors is the FIRST contest to GUARANTEE that each script will only be allocated to a reader who enjoys that particular genre.

Reel Authors has been set up by film industry professionals to encourage NEW writing talent and to BANISH genre subjectivity in screenplay and teleplay contests.

We our the first contest to offer a 'script to reader genre match' guarantee. Your screenplay/teleplay will be read by someone who enjoys its genre.

We also guarantee to keep our fees (both for contest entry and the optional feedback/analysis report) ultra competitive. No other contest offers entry, an industry orientated scorecard and analysis/feedback for just $45.

Rules

Only original work can be submitted. The work must be the sole property of the applicant(s). Optioned work is not permitted.

Collaborative work is acceptable provided there are no more than two writers.

Modifications/changes/new drafts etc of submitted work are only acceptable if accompanied by a new entrance fee.

Entrants must submit under their real names, pen names are not allowed.

It is the responsibility of prize winners to pay whatever taxes may be due on their prize. Cash prizes will be awarded without tax deducted.

All scripts must be in English and no more than 120 pages. A maximum script length of 110 pages is recommended.

All scripts must be in PDF format and conform to the industry standard for spec screenplays.

Awards

A cash prize of $1,500 will be awarded for the best feature film script, $500 will be awarded for the best teleplay.
