The Green Light Award is an annual writers award hosted by the London Screenwriters' Festival. It is open to all writers across the globe. The primary goal of the award is to assist writers by guaranteeing that their work is produced. We do this by purchasing the option on the winning script (£500 / $800 approx) and actually making it with an award winning team of professional film makers and actors.
We also provide professional script development prior to production as well as setting up a lunch with the winner and a top industry literary agent (UK based). The winner also receives a free ticket to the London Screenwriters Festival 2012 (valued at £300) where their film will be premiered.
WinningScripts Pro $5 Off Coupon
Notification: October 15, 2011 (appox)
The script selected by ScriptPlus Limited will be purchased and made into a short movie after script development work has been satisfied. How much development work is totally dependent upon the quality of the winning script. Thus the winning script is chosen more on it's potential than how well it's formatted and spelling and grammatically correct.
The purchase price will be £500.00. There will be no negotiation.
Once the script has been purchased ScriptPlus Limited owns the script outright and will immediately put the script into development and then production. All rights and importunity will be solely with ScriptPlus Limited. Any future income derived from film will remain with ScriptPlus Limited.
ScriptPlus Limited will make every effort to notify the writer of any film festivals or screenings. The winning writer will be invited to the premiere screening at the London Screenwriters Festival and will receive a lunch with a top writers' agent in London (or phone call if unable to make it to London).
The winning script writer will also receive a free pass to the FOLLOWING year's Festival for 2012.
If the winning writer is attending the 2011 London Screenwriters Festival they will receive the full cost of their ticket back.
Writers who PURCHASE a ticket to the London Screenwriters Festival and submit to the Green light Award can request the cost of their submission back. But only AFTER they have 1) Purchased a ticket to the festival, 2) Paid for their submission, through direct payment or Withoutabox. 3) Their script has been accepted into the award process. 4) They provide their ticket number to the festival management.
Beyond the development stage of writing, the winning writer may, or may not be incorporated with the production process and the decision to include the writer is solely based on the producers discretion.
We reserve creative control over the script once we have purchased it. In short, if we can't reach a compromise on a change we feel is necessary to make the script great, we'll still do it.
