Since 2007, Screenwriting Goldmine has shown a passionate commitment to supporting screenwriters as they develop the skills and contacts to break into the industry.
This is the second year of our international screenplay contest, and once again we are searching for five great new writers. We want to introduce them and their work to some very powerful industry players.
We are looking for great original screenplays, 45-125 pages in any genre, from new writers from all over the world.
We give cash prizes, software, various industry memberships, and so on, but this is secondary to our main goal - opening industry doors.
The five finalists will have the rare prize of having their work read by 11 highly influential judges: heads of department, script execs, producers, and literary agents, some of whom work for the UK's top drama production centres, some of whom are freelance, all of whom are currently deeply involved with the industry, and all of whom have the power to greatly boost a writer's career.
What's more, as well as reading, some of the judges will take script meetings with the finalists and look to develop relationships with them.
With this calibre of judge, making your mark in this competition will be a solid validation of your script: a validation which should carry international recognition.
This is a genuinely exciting chance to get some serious attention for your work.
