With great sponsors like Soyjoy, Monster Energy, Write Brothers, Sony, Avid, The Stella Adler Academy, the Quickfilm Budget, Pond 5 and many others, the AOF gave out over $250,000 in cash and prizes in 2018 alone.
In addition, sponsors like Hollywood Rentals and others give out full equipment package rentals for up to two weeks to make a filmmaker's film production dreams come true.
We also feature many of our filmmakers on the Del Weston's Action On Film weekly television program which airs in the Los Angeles Market and across the country. This exposure alone is worth thousands of dollars in promotion and advertising for your projects.
This year we will also be giving $1000 CASH prize to the Winner of the TOP Screenplay, $500 to Best Short, $500 to Best Feature.

Screenwriter Alan Baxter
An interview with screenwriter Alan Baxter regarding the Action On Film Writing Competition.
Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?A: The title of my script is "The Crossing" and it won best short screenplay.
A dedicated U.S. Border Patrol Agent finds himself conflicted when he encounters someone from his past trying to illegally enter the USA.
A: This festival has been around for several years and they specialize in the action/drama genres. I felt my script would fit in nicely. Also, the festival is held in Long Beach and I could easily attend it.
"The Crossing" won first place in the Gimme Credit Screenplay Competition and first place in the Latino Screenplay Competition.
A: Yes, I was satisfied with the administration of the contest. Early on, they notified me of my acceptance via email. They've kept me informed throughout the whole process. I attended the awards ceremony and took home a nice plaque.
Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?A: No feedback.
Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?A: It's too early to say.
Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?A: My short screenplay, "Alone in a Crowd" won first place in the Houston International Film Festival and second place in the Writers Place Screenplay Contest.
My short screenplay, "In the Hunt" won third place in the Indie Gathering.
A: I'm born and raised in LA.
Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?A: I just completed a feature length script about the HIV/AIDS crisis.
