Corneliu, I agree with you on this one. I fully understand that sometimes elements of your script should be changed to help the overall meaning, BUT when the overall meaning is also the TITLE and has to do with the THEME of the script - I say you are correct. Keep it the way it is and send it to another (well researched or recommended from another writer) service. You can't even take away any of their comments because they missed the whole boat!

I hear way too much that we, as writers, should change whatever necessary to get our work seen. I don't believe that is the case with yours and I personally wish you well in getting your work out there.

If you change your title, I will not watch your movie when it is made....hee hee just kidding. Good luck.

Talentville looks pretty good. I just hate when I read stuff like this. I know that you can't fully protect your work but I hate reading stuff like this in the Terms Of Use when signing up for their site. Not that I am paranoid or anything because I just want to see more movies like what I write so if someone copies the premise and delivers o.k. I can live with that!!

Paul,

That is funny! Yeah, I usually just sign up for websites but for some reason I decided to read it. So many people tell us "Why would someone steal your script....blah blah blah". The problem is that if they do, there is usually not much we can do about it. Even with WGA and copyright, it would cost money to litigate in courts which not many writers are up to doing. And if you read it, it says they can "create derivative works, adapt...". That alone says that it is possible for them to do it, not another writer, THEM.

Again, I know you can't protect an idea or concept of a movie. My hope is that if anyone "steals" my idea/concept for a movie that they do it BETTER than me!!! If they "steal" it and it sucks, then I will be PISSED!!!

Thanks Alan.

Yeah I just wanted to throw that out there. I like the idea of peer review and think it is a good way to point out the problems in a script that I just don't see (or ignore!). Again, if I was really "scared" of someone "stealing" it, I might as well just keep all the scripts to myself and nothing I write will ever be made!

But they are mine! All MINE!!!! Just kidding. I might try it out. They have a bunch of members. Looking through the list now.

Ben, Thanks and I hope I did not derail anything. I love the site (been poking around on it) and think it will do nothing but help. And we all need help! Okay, I do. Thanks for the clarification and that is also why I posted my previous comments. Looks like you also have a bunch of industry people that are a part of your site.

Lots of love.

Okay, Ben just responded in the other thread and cleared things up (that I obviously misconstrued). Seems like a good guy and since poking on the site, looks like a bunch of industry people on there as well as seasoned writers. Looks like to me now that it would do nothing but help.

Just wanted to set things straight. Thanks for the tip Alan.

Paul,

It is funny you bring this topic up because this is exactly what I am trying to do. I think it can't do anything but help with your "street cred" as a writer if someone can see what you have written. I watched your short and liked it. I hope to film mine by end of year or beginning of next.

I might just throw my short script up on Inktip to see how it goes. You never know.
