CSW Produces Staged Reading of 'Beyond the Horizon'

Chicago ScriptWorks (CSW), a non-profit organization for screenwriters, will presents Beyond the Horizon by George Ferris, on Wednesday, April 30th, 7 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center Studio Theatre. Beyond the Horizon is about a teenager who mixes it up with colorful barnstormers who fly out the mail from a nearby field. He finds himself blocked from ever becoming a pilot-until he gets help from an unexpected source.

"Vintage aviation has been a special interest of mine for many years" says Ferris. A graduate of the University of Southern Calilfornia Division of Cinema/Television, he has produced several films including Styx by Peter Well and Bryan Brown, Snowbound with Erika Eleniak and Running Red with Jeff Speakman and Angie Everhart. Currently he has a project in pre-production with Solipsist Films, White Rose (written with Matt Roe), based on a true story -- that of Lidya Litvak, who holds the distinction of being the world's highest-scoring female fighter pilot. Janusz Kaminski is set to direct.

Ferris was also the winner of the Writer's Place Screenplay Competition, Film in Arizona Screenplay Competition and the Phoenix Film Festival Screenwriting Contest. The Chicago Cultural Center Studio Theatre is located at 77 East Randolph Street in Chicago. Admission for the reading is $5.
