Notification:
By year-end, subject to change
Objective:
The NFO competition seeks to provide unsold writers an opportunity for recognition and networking with the Hollywood market, and to encourage the creation of scripts specific to Nevada. The small size of the competition improves a writer's chances of finishing well, and judges usually provide helpful notes and useful criticism. All genres are welcome except pornography which is excluded. Drama, comedy, sci fi, westerns, historical, fantasy, action, adventure, heists, road movies, thrillers, and more have all won and/or placed well over the years.

A "boutique" size contest with less than 200 entries qualifying annually, the competition requires that 75% of a script's locations be set in Nevada.

Eligibility:
Only Writers who have not previously sold or optioned a screenplay.
Entry Fee:
$25 for PDF submission, $50 for Hardcopy submission.
Rules:
No pornography; standard industry screenplay format; cardstock cover & back with title ONLY on front; inside removable title page with all contact info; 2 or 3 brass fasteners, 3-hole punched script; length 90 to 130 pgs; 75% of locations must be shootable in Nevada SOMEWHERE; a release form must be signed for each script and sent with payment; see website for details.
Awards:
TBD
