The Coalition of Asian and Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) sponsored by FOX Entertainment is now accepting submissions for the 2010 New Writers Award in Film and Television. Previous winners include Alice Wu (2001), whose script SAVING FACE was produced by CAPE Board of Advisor Teddy Zee (PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS). Teddy Zee is also attached to produce HYUNG'S OVERTURE written by Young Il Kim, which won the 2006 CAPE New Writers Award. CAPE's Board of Advisors include distinguished executives and artists such as Ang Lee, John Woo, Terence Chang, Dean Devlin, Warrington Hudlin, David Henry Hwang, Lou Diamond Phillips, Richard Sakai, B.D. Wong, Chris Lee, Fritz Friedman, Janet Yang and Teddy Zee.
Winners will receive a $4000.00 cash prize, Final Draft screenwriting software and an opportunity to pitch their winning script to a select group of entertainment executives. In addition, staged readings of the winning screenplay will be performed.
