Objective:

The mission of this “girls club" is to promote, encourage, and support the visibility and integration of women in the entertainment industry.

Rules:

Screenplays must be in standard screenplay format, three-hole punched, typed, bound, with cardboard covers and brads and should not exceed 15 pages. Complete rules on at www.power-up.net.

Awards:

The POWER UP Filmmaking Grant Program is a very distinctive educational experience. POWER UP does not simply turn over funding to the Grant recipients. Instead, POWER UP – just as a large entertainment studio – develops, produces and distributes the films made through the grant program itself. This distinctive program teaches the recipient writers and directors - not only how to make a high quality, engaging films - but, more importantly, how to work creatively and productively within a professional studio system.

POWER UP Filmmaking Grants Available

POWER UP--the organization to promote the visibility and integration of gay women in entertainment--has announced that applications are available for the 5th Annual Filmmaking Grant Program. This year POWER UP will change the format of the grant films from shorts to a Feature Film.

Power Up Announces 2003 Film Grant Winners and New Feature Screenplay Competition

POWER UP has announced their 2003 Filmmaking Grant winners. The top three winning screenplays will be entirely financed and produced by POWER UP and directed by one of the top three Film Grant directing winners this summer.

Power Up Film Grant Now Accepting Applications

The non profit organization, POWER UP has announced that the 2003 Filmmaking Grant applications are available on-line at www.power-up.net, after the success of one of the 2002 grant produced films, D E.B.S. becoming an official selection of the 2003 Sundance and Berlin International Film Festivals.
