The overall winners for the 4th Annual Screenwriter's Challenge have been announced. In the first round of the competition, 610 writers were challenged to create original short scripts, no longer than 15 pages, in one week based on a genre and subject assignment. 50 finalists were chosen to advance to the final round to compete for over $13,000 in cash and prizes by writing an original short script in just 24 hours. This year's genre assignment was Sci-Fi and the subject assignment was Trespassing.

NYC Midnight Movie Making Madness has announced the 1st round finalists of their SCreenwriters Challenge competition.
Are you a screenwriter looking for a challenge and exposure? All aspiring—and competitive—screenwriters worldwide are invited to participate in the 2005 Screenwriter’s Challenge. Writers compete to see who can produce the best short screenplay on an assigned genre and subject in as little as 24 hours.
The 1st Round finalists for the NYC Midnight Movie Making Madness 2004 Screenplay Competition have been selected. The finalists will be competing in September for the grand prize by writing an original short screenplay in 24 hours.
