Film Independent's Screenwriters Lab is an intensive five-week program running two evenings a week in Los Angeles in July and August. The Lab is designed to help screenwriters improve their craft, develop their voice as writers, and take their current scripts to the next level. During the Lab, Fellows receive feedback on their scripts from the Lab instructor, outside advisors, and the other writers in the program.

The Euroscript Screen Story Competition was launched nineteen years ago in 1994 under the auspices of the European Union's Media II programme. Winners of the Euroscript Screen Story Competition write three drafts of their script within a specified time period. Working one-to-one with a script consultant they receive as much face-to-face and written feedback as is required to complete each of the three drafts.

The DC Shorts Screenplay Competition (October 2012) is a very different kind of screenwriting competition. A panel of judges consisting of filmmakers, screenwriters and critics will review and provide coverage (feedback) for scripts of 15 pages or less. 5-7 finalists will be featured during ScriptDC — the region’s largest screenwriting conference — where their scripts will be read in front of a live audience — and one will walk away with $2,000 to shoot their project!
