Topic: The Veena Solution

Author: D. Jay Williams Posted: 02/16/03 02:11 PM

I've read her bio; she's a retired teacher of literature. And I noted in a posting that she is in her 90's. If we run the numbers that means she was already retired or at least well into her career before maybe any of us had even scrawled our first ABC's with a crayon.

Hence, I believe she should be officially be titled as the Matriarch of MovieBytes and receive a special dispensation, allowing her any conduct she so chooses. There is too much to learn from the lady to allow ruffled feelings to interfere.(imho)

(I also think a certain license might be allowed me--some of the scoldings I've received here should only be directed to somebody with less delicate feelings.)

Marcel -

May the angels embrace you and the spirit of Hemingway direct your pen.

MARCEL!!?? Why does HE get the blessing? Hey, it was my idea. And I get NOTHING? Okay, that does it--I'm removing my recomendation for the dispensation.

(P.S.-I'm only joking. The dispensation is still on.) Jay

Mr. Williams -

Please forgive an old mind. I was still smarting from Mr. Rude's insults to me in retaliation for pointing out Mr. Rude's damaging suggestions to Marcel. I awoke during the night thinking, Marcel, Marcel, Marcel - do not listen to Mr. Rude.

For you Mr. Williams, may a congregation of all the muses sing in praise of your writings, and may Hemingway inspire you to the 'one single sentence written well and true' -that all his life (so he said) eluded Mr. Hemingway, as it did Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Tokas, according to Ms. Stein--though I'd give her an argument about that.

Veena-- What a wonderful thing to wish for somebody! I will take that as a blessing and tape it to my computer. Thank you.

Toklas would never forgive me for omitting the 'l' from her name. Sorry, Ms. Toklas.
