Topic: Congrats Terri Dickey!

Author: Ellum McCurdy Posted: 03/26/06 08:22 PM

Since nobody else has mentioned it, I'll have to: Terri is in serious negotiations with a MAJOR A-LIST bunch, who have MAJOR recents credits, for one of her many scripts - a scary, cerebral type that they (the group) are comparing to THE OMAN. An offer has been made, but it's not for me to give away details.

So, WAY TO GO, TERRI! Don't forget us, but, if you must forget most, remember me. :)

Couldn't happen to a nicer person, good luck!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. It's long overdue.

Won't say any more. Crossing fingers and rubbing whatever it is that makes things happen.

Well, thanks, everyone. THAT'S NICE.

Though nothing is set in stone (although the one Ellum mentioned will be soon), it seems to be a MIRACLE MARCH for me.

In "talks" yesterday re: another script (Romantic Comedy) with another "GOOD" Prodco.

Since then, in "talks" re: a Writer-for-Hire on another project.

And, later this afternoon, I'm scheduled to speak to someone about a Psychological Thriller I wrote.

I've had soooooooooo many "deals" in the past that have fallen through, that I NEVER get my hopes up.

Right now, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed, be thankful and PRAY!

Terri,

Last year in a meeting at Paramount, the Exec suggested that I see the film: " Dying Gaul " I've just seen it, and besides it being a very good film with a lot of the Paramount lot ( that you will be very familiar with) and seeing the same gate guard in the film who gave me my pass and map of the lot, there's a wonderful scene where the yet unsold screenwriter says to the exec: " I've written fifteen screenplays, and nobody will buy or look at them, and now you offer me a million dollars. I can't tell you what a million dollars would do for my life. "

The Exec says: " Take the money.. "

Terri,

" Take the money..! "

Thinking nothing but good thoughts for you on this one. I know how it feels to be close, and so do you.. Make it happen on this one..

All the best,

Ron

Thanks, Ron.

Yes, I saw "The Dying Gaul" last summer or fall at an Academy screening. Turned out to be very interesting. As I told Sue on another thread, he was a good guy, then he turned into a bad guy. I don't think I've eaten a salad since. LOL!

Good luck Terri! Really hope this happens for you.

Yes, just like everyone else, I need allllllllll the help I can get!

So, if anyone prays or chants or sends out light, I would appreciate it! This is ONE I don't want to fall flat and end up in the "Oh, almost sold it . . . but not" closet!
