This just in...
In an effort to streamline the show, Fox has decided to only have one show a week now.
It will air on Tuesdays at 8pm and there has been some retooling.
Many rumors are abound with cancellation, poor premise and contestants...and that has definitely hurt the effort.
For me, it is okay! I really question the quality of the final fifty out of 12,000 entries and is this a Fox STUDIO ploy to go after the INDIE side of the business and make it look really amateur!!
Any other thoughts???

I'm watching it right now as I type this.
First of all, they didn't even explain HOW they chose these particular 5 people. And why we'd only be voting on these 5. If we are voting only on these 5, then how did THEY determine who we should be voting on giving safety for the other 10.
I also hate the fact they have Michael Bay on there only to blatantly over promote the release of his newest movie. I particularly don't like him. He's giving the same bullshit to everyone to "find their style". These are new people, in time they will find their style or you will finally see their style.
UGH!!! I hope it get's canceled soon.

I made myself watch last night, and got interrupted once by a phone call, but I'd have to say that I sincerely hope the other 10 contestants are far superior. And if only one out of five is eliminated this week, that means it will take about 4 months of episodes every week to choose the final one. I'm sure I can't hold out that long. The scripts were poor to average and in spite of some good actors, no one did an outstanding job. Lots of production goofs and the end results probably wouldn't make an average film festival.

I brought this up on another board but I was under the belief that the Directors would be given the best equipment, resources and actors to utilize for filming their work....
Why was it last night that they had to beg, borrow and steal what or whoever they could to complete their project???
The only way they got Michael Bay to participate was a huge agreement to support and advertize for his movie "TRANSFORMERS" coming out on July 4th.
I was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday and it seems that the poor ratings for On the Lot may have killed the possibilities of some other Film Reality shows coming to TV.
It seems that a great idea poorly executed may really do some damage...
On one of the blogs, FOX is being blamed for screwing this royally but as a cause to take the strong wind out of the sails of the Independent Film Industry.
If a Studio like FOX had any forsight, they would look to the Indie world and really make it their mission to revive the Film Industry...
Awe I can dream can't I????

It appeared that they were reviewing their entry films and trying to pass them off as just being filmed.
Why in the world would these people go back to the nether regions where they came from to shoot their next short when they only had 5 days to do it and they are already in LA?
