Topic: Congrats to all the Bluecat quarterfinalists

Author: Nathan Goldman Posted: 07/01/08 09:43 PM

Congratulations on the quarterfinals to Orlanda, Gene, Paul, Geoff, John, and any one else I missed! Great going against great competition!

Author: Jean Hunter Posted: 07/01/08 10:31 PM

Hey, everyone, that's fantastic! And Flo, congrats to you as well.

Orlanda, two scripts - wow! Double congrats to you, girl!

Best wishes to everyone moving up to the next notch :)

Whew! 'The Knuckleballer' made it! Congrats to all the quarterfinalists, and thanks to all the MBers here who are so supportive!

Author: Jean Hunter Posted: 07/02/08 12:34 AM

Yikes, Michael - missed your name (again?) Sorry - so many Moviebyters are making cuts I think for now on I'll just say "congrats everyone!" :)

Author: Orlanda Szabo Posted: 07/02/08 03:34 AM

Thanks to everyone

LOL I've a supernatural thriller and a drama in the same contest. Amazing!

The the best of great luck to all of us.

:-D Orlanda

Congrats...let me guess, you all went to their workshops. Those of us who have day jobs get great feedback but no chance at bluecat which is strange since I took a bronze in Houston last year.

Also spotted Lou Yateem in there, with REINVENTING ETHAN. Very cool to see so many MBer's...

Kudos, one and all!

Author: Lynette Taylor Posted: 07/02/08 03:22 PM

Teresa,

For what it's worth...I didn't attend one of their workshops...and Crazy Love made the cut.

Author: Lou Yateem Posted: 07/02/08 06:25 PM

I've vowed to keep changing the first word of the title until I get somewhere with it. Next it will be Resurrecting Ethan. They didn't like Replacing... very much last year so...

Thanks John.

Author: Jean Hunter Posted: 07/02/08 09:22 PM

Congrats, Lou.

I like "Resurrecting..." has a nice ring to it. :)

Author: Flo Young Posted: 07/03/08 01:10 PM

Jean, you are a kind soul, and I can't believe you remembered me!!!! Thank you. Orlanda, girrrrl, you gonna be hard to beat;0)

At this point, it feels great to make it to quarterfinals, and whatever happens happens... but the money, oh, the money. Maybe we should start a thread called, "if I win the money." What would you do? Would you pay off debt? get a shack in the woods/by the beach/in the city for a few months to hunker down and write? travel?

Best wishes to all! Flo

Author: Flo Young Posted: 07/03/08 01:13 PM

p.s. I didn't attend any of the workshops, either. Most of them are offered in every other city besides LA. I took Evan Somers' classes at SMC.

Author: Jean Hunter Posted: 07/03/08 02:25 PM

Flo, that shack in the woods sounds fantastic to me, however I'm upgrading to a cabin as I want to at least be halfway civilized with running water and electricity!! Ahhh...we can dream, can't we?! :)

Author: Orlanda Szabo Posted: 07/03/08 05:20 PM

Not so tough, Flo. :-) There's still room for a couple more moviebyters to round out the 10 finalist.

Oh, on the money. LOL I'd hit some film festivals. For sure.

I haven't taken any BlueCat seminars. Actually, I'm just taking my very first screenwriting course right now with Hal Croasmun at Script4Sale. And loving it.

Good luck on the 23rd everyone

;-) Orlanda

We are the music makers and the dreamers of dreams, Jean!

This is so exciting. What a talented lot you all are - congratulations! Fingers crossed that y'all continue to move up.

Author: Dorothy St. Louis Posted: 07/04/08 02:15 PM

Author: Orlanda Szabo Posted: 07/07/08 02:45 AM

Dorothy, I couldn't agree more. LOL Nothing short of a screenplay could make me want to learn astrophysics.

Author: Dorothy St. Louis Posted: 07/07/08 03:33 PM

Orlando...Mine is SMART BOMBS...

Dorothy

Author: Orlanda Szabo Posted: 07/07/08 04:00 PM

Cool!

Can you pop an A there on the end of my name instead of the O, Dorothy. ;-) I'm of the female persuasion.

LOL Putting my first and last name together does it all the time, O to O.

Orlanda

Author: Dorothy St. Louis Posted: 07/07/08 09:06 PM

Sorry about the "O" not the "A"...that's what I get for reading without the glasses...
