Author Bio: ROSE'S WAR WINS RUNNER UP IN ISFMA Festival - Screenplay Contest, Winner - 2010 7th Annual iP Screenwriting Contest Animation Genre.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulating you. We received nearly a thousand scripts, your script Roses War was one of the best and chosen as a runner up for the Independent Short Film, Music and Art Festival, in its short screenplay competition. It was a difficult decision.

All the scripts we received were read at least once. From there less than half moved on to the second phase and within the second phase only four scripts moved on to the final read. From the four, your script was one of the four! It was a delightful read and something we could see being produced!

They say a picture's worth a thousand words -- poppycock! A thousand words can conjure up a million pictures spinning through your head, just think how many images are spat out within a 2 Hour movie. 24 Frames a second every second of every minute of those two hours and from what?

The words we gave them of course, the blueprint we bled from our febrile brain...oh sure they made them look pretty and the thesps did their best work, but we gave them life, breathed out our spirit of adventure to guide their journey to the box office and into your heads and homes and...oh wait, was this meant to be a bio...I'm sorry, let me pop my soap box away and fess up.

I've been in the film business way too long, both in front and behind the camera, war zones and posh homes, glossy ads and skanky locations, so what I write I know you can film, I'm probably up in amongst the top 10% of the greatest living screenwriters you haven't heard of...yet!

Let's not forget Diablo Cody or a fresh faced Shane Black when he socked us between the eyes with the Lethal Weapon franchise...

Okay, I admit I'm living on that overpopulated Planet called "Nearly" which is pretty crowded I can tell you, but I have a million ideas and a shed load of scripts and it's only a matter of time until you wonder where the hell I came from so fast...which is probably what you're thinking about Jon Spaihts who's writing the Alien prequel and loads more and hasn't had a thing done...but then you read Shadow 19 and you think...can I ever be that good!

And the answer my friend is -- you have to be, and then some! So to sum up I'm a writer for hire and one day soon I'll be a hired writer, until then, as someone once said...a professional writer is just an amateur who never gave up!
