*******The REVIEWS are in on SPONTANEOUS HUMAN COMBUSTION***
"I enjoyed the script... The plot kept me interested as I wanted to find out what was behind the combustions. The characters were pretty good and believable."
"Exposition was clear and concise which made for an easy read and enabled me to see the story play out perfectly. The action scenes were also done with surgical precision, not once did I ever have to re-read a line to get a grasp of what was going on. I felt I was in the bank heist(nice DARK KNIGHT vibe), at the funeral, barricaded in the truck stop (which gave it a “LEGION” sort of feel) and at the final scene... Tyll was by far the most intriguing and kept the guessing game going along with the second act’s tension of who’s going to go up in flames next... The concept was original and fresh and gave the story a lot of dimension and permission to move whichever way it wanted to, very well thought out and executed... Everything was gritty until the end, then nice and polished... I’m really glad I got to read this. It had a lot of energy, focus and vision. Definitely innovative and well thought out, taking you for a ride with lots of unexpected turns."
"Great opening. Such attention to detail... You were able to generate a great deal of suspense from your plot. Who is this Tyll guy? What's really behind the combustion? Who will be the next one to burst into flames? What are the secrets that all these people hold? I found myself on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what these people have done and in which order they will go. Then the stakes get even higher when we realize that no one can leave the diner. And the stakes continue to be raised. Just when you think they can't get any higher, they do... I thought you did a really great job with your characters and dialogue, as I've come to expect with your scripts. There were so many characters and I did fear at the beginning that I would confuse them, particularly the 4 bank robbers, yet I didn't. You expertly crafted them with their own set of personalities, quirks and dialogue that it was almost effortless to keep track of who was who... Overall, I thought it was a really great script. Suspenseful, interesting, fast-paced and held my interest from beginning to end. In one word: awesome!"
"SPONTANEOUS HUMAN COMBUSTION was a fun ride and a very good story. The opening was intriguing and done just right. The lines of dialogue were quite good overall... This has potential to be a serious big screen hit..."
"CHARACTERS: Most felt individual, well done.STORY: A unique spin on the norm.. You're a good writer... OVERALL: The story was entertaining... This style of story has been done plenty of times, but your bag of tricks... makes it unique enough to stand on its own."
"I found the premise of the story to be very original, and the motif of the SHC, which has always intrigued me, was well implemented and added to the chaos of the situation... The story, I felt, ran with a smooth pace and did not hit any snags... I felt like I was in the diner when the combustion was happening... Overall, I really enjoyed this story... The script had a nice even pace to it and the bank heist scene in the beginning really booted things off and kept my interest... Good luck...hope to see the poster for "Spontaneous Human Combustion" soon!!"
"Hell of a kicker. If the first three pages doesn’t pull you in, you probably need to be watching a Disney film... Strong script, I can see why you’re getting through doors."
