Earth 15-20 million years from now. Man and all familiar mammals are long gone. The dominant species is now flightless "bird-people," who live in an early farming culture. The "Rhia" or "People of the Earth" face constant marauding from the nomadic raptor "Fhje" or "People of the Wind." When a beautiful young Rhia female is kidnapped by the Fhje, she falls in love with a leader and betrays her village to their attack.
