My name is Alia Zeid and I’m a screenwriter based in Campbell, CA. I’ve written six short film scripts, three feature screenplays, two televisions pilots, and one spec script over the past three years, the first script being a comedy pilot I wrote in university. I’ve gotten multiple festival awards for my projects. My artistic perspective is highly influenced by anime and East Asian cinema because I grew up with a Japanese best friend who introduced me to the world of anime at a young age.

My name is Alia Zeid and I’m a screenwriter based in Campbell, CA. I’ve written six short film scripts, three feature screenplays, two televisions pilots, and one spec script over the past three years, the first script being a comedy pilot I wrote in university. I’ve gotten multiple festival awards for my projects. My artistic perspective is highly influenced by anime and East Asian cinema because I grew up with a Japanese best friend who introduced me to the world of anime at a young age. My cultural and ethnic background is imprinted in the characters and situations that I write about. I’m a first generation American and I grew up in the Silicon Valley. Four of my screenplays revolve around my personal interests depicted through a high-concept plot. One is about a high school shooting, another is about immortality and death, and a third is about morality, and the fourth is about international folklore. I believe that the best way to examine issues that humanity struggles with, either on a global or personal scale, is to portray them in fictional environments with characters that an audience can empathize with. The next script that I intend to work on will be a television pilot that deals with distrust in the government and cyber safety. At this point, I would love to engage in a writer’s room and improve my screenwriting. I’m at a point where I could use a mentor and some guidance to further my career. I’m open to writing both TV and feature formats for most genres.
