Hunters

Men and women Big Game Trophy hunters are being killed world wide, from a long distance, by an Animal Activist who keeps evading the police until he makes one fatal mistake.

“Hunters” by Mark Mc Quown

Synopsis In the hail of new photographs on Social Media depicting a Hunter towering over a large dead animal holding their rifle like a prized possession, suddenly there comes an answer in the form of death and then deaths of Big Game Trophy Hunters all over the world. The Social Media vitriol coming from the public and aimed at these hunters is vicious, public and unrelenting as the commentary under each photograph grows more terrible and ugly at each different incident. The general public has become a hater of men and women who kill animals for a trophy head.

Marshall Diggs is an aging, African/American Homicide Detective in Los Angeles and his younger, female partner is Laura Combs, a firecracker, crack shot and outspoken Detective who can pull her own weight along with the men. This pair is given the assignment when a very rich, Beverly Hills Dentist and Big Game Trophy Hunter, is killed in his Beverly Hills Mansion during breakfast with his entire family. The Dentist is the first of a series of Hunters who are killed in the United States. The Dentist is shot from long range by a hunting rifle.

Laura and Marshall find almost no evidence except a ring found under a large tree in the area a neighbor describes as the place where the shot came from. Approximately one-half mile from the Mansion of the Dentist. This ring moves the investigators out to the mid-west and eventually, the suspected shooter is found just outside of Boulder, Colorado. Unfortunately, the man is a well known Animal Activist and is super rich so he can spend time advocating for Animal Rights all around the world.

John, the suspect, is associated with a certain female who protects him from an investigation by being his eyes on the outside world while he maintains a private lifestyle in a huge mountain home above Boulder, Colorado. He lives with a menagerie of animals that he trained from the wild and a certain cantankerous House Keeper who is deadly with a shotgun. John is extremely smart and eventually uses the Police against each other as the Los Angeles Homicide group invades the tiny Boulder Police Department trying to prove that John, a local hero, is a murderer on a global level.

The story concludes in a very large gun battle that takes place around the mountain home of the suspect. Police Drones from two different States engage in the fight and eventually engage in fighting each other as the suspect puts up a battle royal to keep himself out of prison and a death sentence for crimes committed internationally.

“Hunters” is an intriguing Crime/Mystery/Drama revolving around the actions of a Nationally known Animal Rights activist who has taken his philosophy to the end of its natural course with the killing of Big Game Trophy Hunters worldwide.
