Author Bio: Peggy Bruen is an award-winning writer/producer of multimedia shorts and feature films. Bruen has a strong background in marketing and fundraising for such notable organizations as The Music Center of Los Angeles and The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

Bruen has worked in entertainment for 15 years both in New York and Hollywood. She received international acclaim for her award-winning avant-garde short film, “Diversions” @ Berlinale Film Festival, Slamdance and over 30 festivals worldwide. She produced/directed/scripted “An Existential Affair with Oscar winner Martin Landau, which premiered at the Malibu Film Festival and is distributed globally by Maverick Entertainment and Warner Pictures.

Bruen operates Hydra Films, Inc. and Bruen History Films, LLC, both production companies in development with a myriad of fictional and non-fictional genre-driven female protagonist film packages.

Bruen joined the L.A. International Shorts Film Festival and Slamdance Film Festival in Utah as head programmer, reading hundreds of scripts, creating loglines and synopsis for competitions.

Bruen’s most recent projects include a TV series of live action short films, highlighting female teen heroines. “The Midnight Ride Of Sybil Ludington” (optioned) a Putnam County heroic legacy, is the flagship film in development for that series.

Also in development is an epic New York drama film of Marilyn - polio, politics and parenting. Marilyn won 2015 Semi-finalist at Blue Cat Screenplay Competition.

Bruen also scripted “Sacajawea, Blue Water” selected for development by the Screen Actors Guild West, Native America Diversity Committee.

Bruen has travelled extensively through North America, South America, Europe and Africa.
