Knockin' on Heaven's Door

True tale of two young sisters enslaved and abused by a navy wife and her sons until one is poisoned with chocolate pudding. The signs are there for her deeds to be discovered. But the neighbors, the principal, the biological mother, all are duped by this clever psychotic foster mom and the "accidents" keep getting explained away. It's a story the small rural farming community in central California won't easily forget.

Debra Pittman Tobin is a former Lecturer in Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She was also an anchor and reporter She covered the Whitham trial from which the teleplay "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is based while a reporter working for KESQ Fox News and living in Visalia, CA in the early 1990s. Besides writing this story Debra has written scripts for TV shows such as "Magnum P.I" as well as "Cheers.". She now writes historically true stories and fiction based on her home, the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina .
