Code Red

A seventeen-year-old high schooler is frustrated by flaws he sees in the educational system and in his peers so he decides to commit a school shooting in order to lash out against them.

In the town of San Narivo, California, a seventeen-year-old student named Adam McKinney hits his breaking point in high school. His past is riddled with detentions and run-ins with the administration for his hot-headed temperament. One day, he snaps: his teachers degrade his intelligence, his peers shun him for his angry outburst, and his parents are absent when he receives a suspension. Adam decides that school is a waste of time and loses his hope in humanity. His anger towards the stuck-up students and condescending teachers turns into a fantasy about a school shooting. The scenario becomes a reality when Adam plans for a school shooting by buying guns and researching ways to escape the police. On the day of the shooting, Adam attacks two classrooms and kills multiple students and teachers before escaping to the Mexican border. The ambulances respond to help the wounded while the police try to find out where Adam escaped. Adam is able to board a plane and fly to Pyongyang by the time the police have figured out his identity. This results in an international scandal for the United States, as they tensely negotiate with North Korean officials, and a political battle to change gun laws.
