An interview with screenwriter Norman Spagnolly regarding the Hollywood Scriptwriting Writing Competition.

Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?

A: MURDER ON THE LAYAWAY PLAN

An old guy takes revenge on former business associates after his own death by having them murdered, and is able to finance the scheme legally. Detective Martin Stein, NYPD, needs his twenty-five years experience to trace the hired killer down who may elude justice by the overall scheme with a twist ending to the killer's identity.

Q: What made you enter this particular contest? Have you entered any other contests with this script? If so, how did you do?

A: The short timing, every month is a winner.

I have only entered this script just this one time.

My script placed first in this contest.

Q: Were you satisfied with the adminstration of the contest? Did they meet their deadlines? Did you receive all the awards that were promised?

A: Yes. Totally satisfied.

Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?

A: No feedback, since it placed first.



My script is the winner for the month of Sept. Period.











Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?

A: I am getting exposure in a very short time. Twenty contacts have been made in checking the script out through Inktip website.

Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?

A: I have a degree in drama from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. I have four more scripts in my detective series and six stand-alones proof read. All of my detective stories ends with a twist; you can never guess who is the killer. (so says my proof readers)

I have written television commercials.

I am a pulished short story writer. A short story placed as a finalist with Moondance International.

At this time I am turning my written novels into screenplays. Six scripts for 2 and a 1/2 men in my drawer.

Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?

A: I live in San Franciso. I am only 50 minutes away by air travel.

Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?

A: Always working on a script; sometimes two at once.

Anyone knows if Kennett L. Evans , once with Columbia Pictures is still around?
