Screenwriter Interviews

MovieBytes Interview:
Screenwriter Troels Hundtofte

An interview with screenwriter Troels Hundtofte regarding the Movie Script Writing Competition.

Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?

A: It's called The Mute and is a poetic parable about how the world ends. In the story people have mysteriously vanished from the face of the earth and the few who are left have lost their ability to speak. A man and a teenage girl must navigate through a dead metropolis in search of other survivors and figure out why they were spared.

Q: What made you enter this particular contest? Have you entered any other contests with this script? If so, how did you do?

A: I primarily entered The Movie Script Contest because they had a good rating on moviebytes.com

I've so far entered no other contests with this script.

Q: Were you satisfied with the adminstration of the contest? Did they meet their deadlines? Did you receive all the awards that were promised?

A: Yes, very. All my questions were swiftly answered by Jason Zimmatore, and although it's still to soon to tell when my awards are here, everything so far has gone smoothly.

Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?

A: Yes, I was given extensive, professional feedback covering everything from story, characters and format.

Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?

A: It's too soon to tell, as it's only been two weeks since my win.

Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?

A: I've written a number of shorts but have only recently taken up screenwriting. I'm currently majoring in English at Aarhus University in Denmark.

Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?

A: I don't live in LA, and I have no immediate plans to move.

Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?

A: I'm currently working on a few features. One a high-concept Apatow-esque comedy about film geeks and another an unapologetic, dark humored Vampire film with humor in the vein of Firefly.
