MovieBytes Interview:
Screenwriter Christopher Johnson

An interview with screenwriter Christopher Johnson regarding the Santa Barbara Writing Competition.

Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?

A: Conduct Unbecoming. It is the true story of my time in the Marine Corps and how I got involved with the wrong crowd.

Q: What made you enter this particular contest? Have you entered any other contests with this script? If so, how did you do?

A: I entered this contest because of the option and a chance to have your script turned into a movie. Conduct Unbecoming has done very well in several contests.

Q: Were you satisfied with the adminstration of the contest? Did they meet their deadlines? Did you receive all the awards that were promised?

A: Yes. The contest was very professional and stuck to their word.

Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?

A: No feedback.

Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?

A: Not yet.

Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?

A: Yes. I currently have a credit produced by Warner Brothers that will be out on DVD on April 17th. It is titled American Dream. It is the story of the Houston rapper Mike Jones. I am also from Houston and I was asked to write the script.

Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?

A: No I don't. But yes I do plan on moving there.

Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?

A: Yes I am always working on a new project.
