Screenwriter Interviews

MovieBytes Interview:
Screenwriter Diana Kemp-Jones

An interview with screenwriter Diana Kemp-Jones regarding the Worldfest - Houston Writing Competition.

Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?

A: Armada Project was a platinum Remi winner - a sci-fi feature, it portrays a dark scenario of sentient technology gone very bad.

Q: What made you enter this particular contest? Have you entered any other contests with this script? If so, how did you do?

A: It's longstanding reputation and notable past winners interested me. I entered a second script, Scavengers, which won the silver Remi award.

Q: Were you satisfied with the adminstration of the contest? Did they meet their deadlines? Did you receive all the awards that were promised?

A: Very pleased with WorldFest. Hunter Todd runs a great fest. Awards dinner was fantastic and the day out to Nasa and the yacht club made this the most memorable fest I've ever attended.

Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?

A: No feedback was provided in this event.

Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?

A: Armada project is one of my more recently completed scripts, so I'm hoping the win will bring it attention.

Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?

A: I have quite a collection of scripts, stories and a competition winning novel. I'm pleased to say I've done very well in competition and have received a couple of options from a local producer.

Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?

A: Yes, I'm a resident of the City of Angels.

Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?

A: Working on the optioned projects at the moment...doing what I love most-writing.
