Objective:
Have you ever asked yourself "How will anyone know how good my screenplay is, if it never made into a film?" Here is your chance to see your screenplay brought to life. The winner in each category will not only receive a cash prize, but will get the opportunity to have their screenplay made into a film upon contract agreement with Fernleif Productions and the writer. The winning entry in 2009 is currently in pre-production with shooting scheduled to start in June 2010.

Any screenplay writer
Entry Fee:

Rules:
  1. Screenplays must not have been previously optioned, purchased or produced.
  2. Screenplays must be in English.
  3. Screenplays can be in any genre.
  4. Screenplays length depends on category.
  5. Screenplays must be formatted by industry standards and submitted in PDF format.
  6. All check payments must be payable in U.S. dollars to ''Fernleif Productions'' and drawn from U.S. banks. U.S. Money Orders are also accepted.
  7. Any check returned to us for non-payment will be subject to a $15 service fee.
  8. To enter the BIB Competition you must agree to its Terms and Conditions.
  9. Film and Screenplay selection for the Festival will be made by the Festival Committee. All decisions are final.
Awards:

Fernleif Favorite - Best in the festival - $1000 plus production deal to create film.

Best Short screenplay (80 pages or less) - $250 plus production deal to create film.

Best Feature screenplay (over 80 pages) - $250 plus production deal to create film.

Back in the Box Announces Contest Winners

Shane McCabes's THE BASE has been named the winner of the 2009 Back in the Box Screenwriting Competition for a Feature Length screenplay. Other winners included Kathy Herndl's short screenplay "Re: Action"; Rubi Herrera's micro-short screenplay, "Yes, there is an afterlife, but it is only 6 minutes long"; and Gordon Phipp's Episodic screenplay "Clauidia's Mother".
