We actively push the Semifinalists, Finalists, Runners-Up and Winners for a full year with the intention of creating opportunities for the writers. We are a hands on competition because we feel it is important to continue supporting the top scripts beyond the cash and prizes.
We are proud to present the competition with Write Brothers, a company that not only provides the necessary tools for writing but is an advocate and true supporter of emerging writers.
Also, we are supported by the Writers Guild of America west and the Writers Guild of Canada.

The Writers Guild of America, west gives support to the
6th Annual Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition
"The Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition recognizes the value of cultivating the talent of emerging writers," said Victoria Riskin, president of the Writers Guild of America, west. "We applaud not only the competition, but we support the entire program that they have developed for writers." The one-time word-of-mouth competition has grown in stature and reputation in the past five years quickly, rapidly rising to the top. A large part of the company’s success is its true desire to create opportunities for writers.
Scriptapalooza continues to promote the top 13 writers and their scripts months after the winners are announced. Companies such as A Band Apart, Samuel Goldwyn, Disney, Lawrence Mark Productions, and HBO are only a sampling of the 60 production companies and literary representatives that are involved with the competition.
"This unique hands-on approach has helped cement the competition’s credibility among screenwriters. Writers who rank high in the competition are often sought after by production companies," says Scriptapalooza president Mark Andrushko.
Scriptapalooza opens the 6th annual competition and starts accepting submissions in October. Early-bird deadline: Jan.5, 2004; Regular deadline: March 5, 2004; Late deadline: April 15, 2004.
Sponsors include Write Brothers, a leader in the industry for writing software and Filmmaker Magazine, The Magazine of Independent Film.
