“The Holidays” Currently Filming in Spokane, Washington
“The credit of being an award winner of Scriptapalooza got the script in the door to the ‘readers’ – first line of defense for Hollywood,” says Craig Clyde, “I wouldn't have gotten it read by Joe Broido at Porchlight without the Scriptapalooza connection!”
The script was originally optioned by Cosgrove/Meurer, then by Porchlight Entertainment who finally purchased the script. They, in turn, struck a deal with Lifetime Network for a TV movie for a Christmas 2007 release.
"The Holidays" (working title) is budgeted for $1.5 million and stars Christina Pickles and Dave Coulier. The story centers around a likable con man, Donald "Doc" Holiday, who stands to inherit $20 Million from his uncle's estate -- if he can prove he has a home and stable family life. He has a week to find a house, a job, a wife and kids to meet the Christmas deadline. He doesn't know how he can pull it off, until two orphaned children come into his life...
