For anyone who is going to the lab itself, do you have the actual address/location?
Author: Robert Watson
Posted: 11/17/10 12:14 PM
Jim hasn't given out that info yet, about the location, but last year, if I remember right, it was in/near Hollywood.

Thanks, Robert! I will calm down a bit. I'm just trying to plan my travel and I'll need to get a hotel soon but I can probably go ahead and book my flight at least. Thanks again-

I lost 24 hours of my life to some "bug"... I am 99% sure that the class will be across the street from the DGA at Fairfax and Sunset. I think parking might suck, so one option might be the bus from Mann's which is about a 5 minute ride. More information soon. Publically and via email.

A few FYIs:
Marjory graciously contacted me to let me know that her script had won Slamdance and was optioned, so it had to be withdrawn from our competition. It was an awesome script. And I appreciate her proactive honesty.
Also, the weekend class is sold out but if MB people want to take the first or last class in December, they can have a discount: $100 or $200...
Moviebyters can have entrant's discount: USE CODE: MB
MB'ers who also entered can have QF discount: USE CODE: MBENTRANT
A-listscreenwriting.com (the banner on front page isn't updated...go to "classes" page)
I think Sean Kanan and Kurtwood Smith are coming to this year's classes to read scripts.
Peace,
Jim

Cool news from one of last year's winners....
-----
Dear Jim
Just wanted to let you know that, to my surprise and delight, the finished film of "Shoe" (which won second prize in your last Champion Screenwriting Competition) has been shortlisted for an Oscar in the Live Action Shorts Category. (We find out on January 25th if we make the final nominees - fingers crossed.)
Your early recognition of the script was a big step for me in getting the film made, so I just wanted to express my appreciation once more.
Very best
