WriteMovies.com Finalist Set for Production

Hollywood film producer and founder of WriteMovies.com, Alex Ross (The List, 2007- Warner Bros.), has announced that Howard Rosenman has joined the feature project THE CHIMES which he will be co-producing with Mr Ross. The US $20m movie focuses on the cataclysmic love affair in the life of Christmas Carol author Charles Dickens:

When Dickens falls in love with ethereal, mysterious Isabella he is drawn into her dark, dangerous world and risks everything to be with her: his career, his family, his sanity and even his life.

The movie is to shoot in London and Genoa with principal photography anticipated to start Summer 2011.

Mr Rosenman, currently producing BETSY AND THE EMPEROR starring Al Pacino and Dakota Fanning has an eminent track record with such films as the Steve Martin starrer FATHER OF THE BRIDE and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

Mr Ross said: "The Chimes is a mesmerising script about a writer whose stories are loved all over the world and I am very excited Howard Rosenman is working alongside us to bring this devastating aspect of Dickens life to the big screen. We're currently out to directors and hope to announce on this within the coming weeks."

Domestic and International distribution and sales will be handled by Patrick Ewald CEO of Epic Pictures, Beverly Hills. Rome based producer Marco Pugini and his production company, Panorama Films will be handling all aspects of production in Italy.

Bob Portal will handle the production activities in London.

Casting Agent Gillian Hawser will cast the film from London.

THE CHIMES was written by British screenwriter Callie Lane and was a finalist in the WriteMovies.com Writing contest. Ms Lane is also adapting THE CHIMES as a stage musical and this is expected to debut in London during Fall 2011. This will be the second major motion picture realised through WriteMovies.com.
