BlueCat Announces Contest Winners

Hey!

I am VERY proud to announce the winner of the third annual BlueCat Screenplay Competition. I went through MANY scripts this summer and found a truly awesome prolific writer. Her name is Danielle Silvie Gershberg, the author of a decidedly smart high school comedy entitled CLASS, and she is the winner of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.

Danielle receives a check for $4000 for winning BlueCat. An NYU grad, she has written over twenty scripts, having started screenwriting at age 16. To read more about Danielle and her writing, please visit www.bluecatscreenplay.com to read her interview, complete with picture!

CLASS is a great script by a great writer, and it is very funny. And we do need funny these days, last time I checked. I'd also like to introduce you to our four finalists. While they did not win, they were selected because they told powerful stories well. And that's the name of the game, people.

Here they are! Please contact themspecial scripts.

You can also obtain more complete info on everybody at www.bluecatscreenplay.com.

We will start accepting entries on November 1st, our deadline for our fourth competition being March 1, 2002. It's still only $20 for up to two scripts and the prize is now $5000, and it remains our charge to support our winner and finalists in their efforts to get their stories out.

We will be having a reading of CLASS in the coming weeks in LA. If you would like to attend, let us know.

Of course, we also call everybody who enters BlueCat on the phone with feedback on their entry. If you have not received your call yet, please hang in there. I have a problem of going on and on when I'm on the phone, but I'm calling!!

Hope everyone is well and turning away from fear. It is the age of great stories!

Very respectfully,

Gordy Hoffman
