Objective

A Night of Horror International Film Festival is Sydney, Australia's leading genre film event, seeks to find and promote talented screenwriters working in the horror genre.

Submitted screenplays will be judged by industry professionals, with the three finalist feature scripts being read by a representative of Lionsgate, the world's leading distributor of horror cinema.

Rules

There is no restriction to the year that the screenplay was written. Screenplays can be submitted electronically online or submitted on paper. All screenplays should be formatted in accord with industry standards. Paper submissions should be printed on white paper and bound with brads. Please include a paragraph synopsis. No rewritten/corrected pages will be accepted once entry is received. Screenplay must be in English. Screenplay must not have been previously optioned, purchased, in production or produced. Screenplays written as adaptations of other works must have secured rights before being submitted. If a winning screenplay is the work of more than one writer, the prize will be split evenly amongst the writing team. Screenplays will not be returned (they will be destroyed after the competition). So please do not send the only copy of your script. All fees are Australian dollars.
