Did anyone go? How was it?

I'm a new writer and was excited to find out a lot about structure from such well respected scribes as Michael Hauge and Blake Snyder.

I thought the pitchfest was well organized and allowed a great opportunity to get face time with decision makers you probably wouldn't get into see if you live in a city outside LA (like I do).

I've had some request for a couple of my comedies and will be following up in due time and hopefully the pitchfest will be responsible for the start of my career.

And then again, maybe it won't. I'm not going to wait for the phone to ring. I have a lot of Query letters to print up. Good night.

It was bloody excellent. Very professionally organised.

People get their scripts read left, right and centre.

A must for anyone who is scared of pitching - this is immersion therapy. Get Michael Hauge's book 'Selling your story in 60 seconds' then enrol in Kathie Fong Yoneda's online pitching course to really hone your spiel.

Out of the 13 companies I pitched to, 5 are reading the script and all the others requested my one page.

For those of you who want to learn something, the academic programme was great.

Well worth the trip from Western Australia.

Well done Signe, Bob and Lorene - the hard working organisers. They're also great people to meet.
