Author Bio: Jonathan LaPoma has written seven feature-length and three short screenplays that have won a total of 150 awards/honors since 2013, three novels, and hundreds of poems and songs. His black comedy script HARM FOR THE HOLIDAYS was optioned by Warren Zide along with Wexlfish Pictures (producer of AMERICAN PIE and FINAL DESTINATION films) in July 2017. LaPoma's award-winning, best-selling novel, DEVELOPING MINDS: AN AMERICAN GHOST STORY (#1 Amazon Best Seller in the "Satire" and "Urban Life" Kindle categories), and his screenplay A NOBLE TRUTH were published by Laughing Fire Press in 2015, and his short story A SACRIFICE TO THE GOD OF THE BLUES appeared in 34thParallel Magazine's November 2014 issue. LaPoma's screenplays have won 1st place victories in the 2014 Hollywood Screenplay Contest (Grand Jury Prize--best overall of over 1,000 submissions), the 2015 Las Vegas Screenplay Contest (two wins: Grand Jury Prize and Grand Prize: Drama Category), the 2014 and 2015 London Film Awards, the 2016 MAC Underground Film Festival, the 2016 Auckland Film Festival, the 2014 Awareness Film Festival, and the 2014 West Field Screenwriting Awards (The New York Award). He has also been a jury member for the 2016 Cordoba International Film Festival (short film category), and the 2015 and 2016 San Diego International Kids Film Festival (screenwriting category).
