Tracy Leon Streeter was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana, the youngest of six children. He is the son of the late Cecil Wilson “Kat Man” Streeter and Eartha Lee Streeter, who he still proudly honors in his life and ministry. Called to preach in 1989, Tracy has served in ministry for decades and has been the Senior Pastor of New Fellowship Family Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, since 2007. He and his wife, Rochelle, have been married for over three decades, and together they have a grown son, Tra’ell Elias, who remains one of Tracy’s greatest joys.

Tracy is the author of multiple books, including My Analogies: There Is a Message in Everything We See (2005), Racism: An American Story (His Story, Her Story, Their Story Is Our History) (2020), NeBAS: Never Been A Slave (novella, 2022), God The Bible (More Than the God of the Bible) (2023), and Never Been A Slave (2024), the expanded novel version of his earlier novella. He has also appeared as a guest on the acclaimed news program 60 Minutes and traces his ancestry to Kunta Kinte, the fifth great-grandson in the family line made famous in Roots by Alex Haley. In November 2024, Tracy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given only three to six months to live. As of 2025, he is not only alive but thriving—writing, preaching, and serving—while undergoing kidney dialysis. He gives God all the glory for his renewed life and sense of purpose, and he writes stories like God Don’t Make Mistakes as testimonies to a God who still moves in ways that challenge our understanding and heal our hearts.
