In Silence

When a man's silent struggle with grief and depression becomes too overwhelming to bear, an attempt to end his suffering awakens a spirit in his house that pulls him back from death's grip.

Every year, 16 million people in the U.S. alone struggle with some form of depression and anxiety. Some of them suffer in silence, never reaching out for help; refusing it when offered. In some cases, they don’t even realize they have a problem. We all know at least one person in our lives who fits the description. Perhaps it’s you.

The story follows Jamie Rommen, a man suffering in silence with grief, loneliness, and depression. The loss of his family weighs on him heavily a year later; still reliving the events of their death, alone in the new world of COVID quarantine. He’s out of work. Bills are piling up. His life falling apart. Jamie draws closer to the darkness with every passing day. One call can save him from himself, but like so many others, he's convinced he can get through it alone. He can't. The pressure pushes him over the edge toward the ultimate act of a person beyond help. Inches from the end, he suddenly finds he was never alone. From the other side, the ghostly form of his mother returns to pull him back from the brink.
