Objective

Our panel of Hollywood industry professionals is looking for the next great drama and comedy TV pilots for network, cable and online platforms! Accepting web series and non-traditional series pilots as well. Three winners will receive cash awards and introductions to industry professionals.

The Industry Jury:

This year's jury is our best one yet! Our industry judges are looking for fresh voices in comedy and drama writing for television and web series! Our mission is to connect great TV writers with great TV producers, managers and development executives.

Amanda Verdon, AMC

Scripted Television Exec at AMC, the network behind popular shows such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Better Caul Saul, The Walking Dead and Preacher.

Ari Lubet, 3 Arts Entertainment

Manager at 3Arts Entertainment, the management and production company behind such shows as ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, SILICON VALLEY, PARKS AND RECREATION, 30 ROCK, THE MINDY PROJECT, LOUIE, IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, SAINT GEORGE and more. Clients of 3Arts Entertainment include such legends as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Louis CK, Maya Rudolph, Kevin Hart, Mindy Kaling, George Lopez, Matt LeBlanc, BJ Novak, James Franco, Charlie Day, Ray William Johnson and many more!

Francesca Orsi, HBO

Co-Head of Drama Series at Home Box Office (HBO), the network behind award-winning television series such as Game of Thrones, West World, Silicon Valley, True Detective, The Wire, The Leftovers and The Sopranos.

Brenna Xiang, Amazon Studios

Drama Coordinator at Amazon Studios, the studio behind such television series as Transparent, The Man in the High Castle, Bosch, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Goliath.

Jennifer Grisanti, TV Writing Instructor for NBC

Jen Grisanti is a writing instructor for NBC’s Writers on the Verge and former network executive. As a consultant, Jen’s students have sold 40 pilots (5 have gone to series) and she has helped to staff over 75 writers on TV shows.

Awards

There will be 3 Grand Prize Winners (Drama, Comedy, and Web Series). They will each get:
  • $1,000 Cash/$500 Cash depending on category
  • Professional consultation with the ScreenCraft team
  • Personal introductions by phone to top Hollywood managers, agents and producers who specialize in drama and comedy TV development and production.

ScreenCraft Names Pilot Launch Contest Winners

Culled from over 1,900 submissions, Mount Pleasant by Cat Dale has been named the Drama winner of the 2017 Screencraft Pilot Launch Script Competition. Special, by Jay Cundiff and Kyle Jorgensen, has been named the Comedy winner, and Westinghouse by Dorian Keyes has been named the Web Series winner.

ScreenCraft has announced the one-hour and half-hour Pilot Launch contest semifinalists from among more than 2,000 submissions. The Grand Prize Winners will be announced December 21st.
