Objective
The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting is a vital program that identifies and nurtures talented emerging screenwriters.The program will now exclusively partner with global university programs, screenwriting labs and filmmaker programs to identify potential Nicholl fellows.
Each partner will vet and submit scripts for consideration for an Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and the Black List will serve as a portal for public submissions.
All scripts submitted by partners will be read and reviewed by Academy members.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Announces 15th Annual Nicholl Fellowships
The Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting were established in 1985 by a gift to the Academy Foundation from Mrs. Gee Nicholl to identify and encourage talented new screenwriters. Up to five $25,000 fellowships will be available in 2000.

-- they will find a great amount of information about the competition, entry requirements, eligibility, the judging process, past winners and their achievements.
Since the Nicholl competition's beginnings, the Academy has awarded $1,450,000 to 63 new screenwriters.
Postmarked deadline is May 1, 2000.
