Objective
The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting is a vital program that identifies and nurtures talented emerging screenwriters. The program will now exclusively partner with global university programs, screenwriting labs and filmmaker programs to identify potential Nicholl fellows.
Each partner will vet and submit scripts for consideration for an Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and the Black List will serve as a portal for public submissions.
All scripts submitted by partners will be read and reviewed by Academy members.
Rules
Please see website for complete rules and guidelines.

More MovieBytes Readers Named Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalists
Several more MovieBytes subscribers have been identified among the quarterfinalists for the Nicholl Fellowships, which this year attracted more than 5,000 entries:
Writer: Dan Howell (dhowell@schraublaw.com)
Script: The Paper Boy
Logline: Paul, 15, lives in a Bizarro-world version of Mayberry. His
bullying father will kick him out if he doesn't pay rent -- but to do so,
Paul must collect a back-due paper bill from Lester, a crazy redneck with an
attack monkey, while at the same time looking out for his little brother,
fending off a deviant girlfriend, and trying not to miss the next signpost
on the road of life.
Writer: Mark Grisar (Merqu@aol.com)
Script: Cleaning House
Logline: a thriller/noir about a woman who goes to great lengths to get rid of her husband...with unusual twists and unexpected consequences.
Writer: Michael Ezell (Buzzsaw55@aol.com)
Script: Samurai Reflex
Logline: In a dark future, a burned-out mercenary with Central
Nervous System Superconductors in his head and a female street samurai are
hired to rescue a child prodigy from a global corporation. They must
overcome physical enemies, personal demons, and a plot set in motion by their
own employers before they can succeed.
Writer: Jessica Riley (jessmadness@hotmail.com)
Script: Blind Folly
Logline: A penniless New York Stock Exchange sweeper meets the wealthy and
passionate New York City's 'Queen of the Night' at an illegal speakeasy the
night before the stock market crash of 1929. He must teach her that one
rich in love is rich in the world.
Writer: Bonnie Bayne (bonnieb@nb.net)
Script: Locust Hill
Logline: Locust Hill is a story about a family and their parish priest who are
forced to reveal their secrets of love, lust and lies in order to reap a
financial harvest from Locust Hill.
Writer:Chris Carlyle (McCarlyle@aol.com)
Script:Reversible Errors
Logline: Darren Webe is an over-eager
law student who somehow lands his dream job at an L.A. mega-firm. The dream
quickly fades as mind-numbing work, depraved partners and annoying senior
associates all conspire to quash Darren's (almost) inexhaustible enthusiasm.
Laid-back associate Trey Ringer also adds to the frustration by mysteriously
succeeding despite doing virtually nothing. If not for the charms of Trey's
beautiful, nudist sister, Darren might go crazy. Or, going crazy might just
be the answer.
Writer: Larry F. Hill (larryfhill@cs.com)
Script: The Bar
Logline: His father's illness forces a successful New York executive to
reluctantly visit his small Ohio hometown, where he battles the demons--real
and imagined--that drove him away years earlier.
Writer: Colleen De Maio (colleen_demaio@yahoo.com)
Script: The Caddy
Logline: When a super-smart, shy high
school nerd starts lending his 1950s Cadillac to the popular guys for
their "dates," he finally begins to make in-roads with the in-crowd.
That is, until he falls for another outcast, and must risk all his
newfound status for one long shot at love.
Writer: Michael Croney (mecden@att.net)
Script: Ronald's Mom is Clairvoyant
