Objective

The NFO competition seeks to provide unsold writers a means to hone their craft as writers, get them a proverbial "a foot in the door" into the filmmaking industry, while encouraging the creation of scripts (and hopefully future productions) specific to Nevada.

Deadline/Entry Fees

Rules

Submission period: May 1- August 31, 2013

  • 75% of locations in Script must be shootable in NEVADA
  • Must be industry standard full-length feature film.
  • Contest is open to any unsold writers

Awards

The winning script will be eligible for consideration to be pitched to production companies, agents, and managers. Winner will receive a complimentary posting of logline, synopsis and full script on the premier screenwriting marketplace InkTip.com.

Winner will also receive two (2) complimentary round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines and complimentary 3 day / 2 night stay at the D Las Vegas (* restrictions may apply)

When Floyd Washington and Hayward Lightfoot step off the Greyhound bus in front of the Aku Aku Club on the Las Vegas Strip in 1955, they think they have left the prejudice and segregation of Louisiana behind them. It only takes five minutes to find out they're wrong. They’re quickly dispatched to the West Side, "where coloreds belong after dark." Within hours of arriving in Las Vegas the two find themselves drawn into the intrigue of the mob, boxing and the nightlife at the Moulin Rouge.
