OIFF Announces Production Training Program

Cleveland, Ohio-The Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF) is now accepting student letters and/or resumes for their annual, acclaimed Film Production Training Program. The Program was described in The Independent Film and Video Monthly (June 1998) by Chris Carmody, current President of Greater Cleveland's Film Commission and former student in the Program, as "...the closest thing to a film school [in Cleveland]." Everyone interested in student positions should send their letter and/or resume ASAP to: OIFF, c/o Bernadette Gillota, 2258 West 10th #5, Cleveland OH 44113. Training will commence as soon as August 2, 1999 and conclude September 3, 1999.

The OIFF's Film Production Training Program (initiated in 1997) is still the only training available in Northeast Ohio which specifically trains professional motion picture industry personnel, and whose training is organized around a professional film shoot.

The mission of the OIFF (established in 1993) is to be the leading organization in Ohio dedicated to freedom of expression through the art of independent media, by encouraging emerging media artist, and by providing a consistent, reputable venue for work the public may not otherwise see. The OIFF accomplishes our mission by facilitating grass roots networking for independent media makers, by acting as the accessible step between local filmmakers and the larger world of independent film, and through educational programs and workshops. We value integrity, innovation, and the exchange of knowledge.
