Call for Entries: Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards

Cleveland, Ohio - Don't miss the CALL FOR ENTRIES for the Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards (OISA)! The OISA is among the oldest and most prestigous sreenplay award programs in Ohio. Over the years, winning screenplays have been optioned and produced (Nightowls of Coventry); additionally, winning writers (Karyn Usher of Small Things Considered) are now well on their way to professional writing careers.

Two awards will be presented: the Best Screenplay Award and the Best Northcoast Screenplay Award (majority of the screenplay set in Cleveland). Prizes include $1000 cash, a screenplay reading at Script Mill- the Ohio Independent Film Festival's screenplay reading program, a subscription to Scr(i)pt Magazine, and most importantly- the introduction to a real writing career (submission to producers in New York and Hollywood, in addition to Los Angeles-based literary agents, talent management companies, and production companies.)

To qualify for our regular submission fee of $40/per screenplay, submissions must be postmarked by MAY 15, 2001. Late submissions may be postmarked until JUNE 1, 2001; late submissions MUST be accompanied by a late submission fee of $60/per screenplay. Award winning screenplays will be announced in the fall of 2001. All awards (including Script Mill) will be given out in November 2001 at the Ohio Independent Film Festival & Market in Cleveland, Ohio.
