WritersScriptNetwork.com, Scr(i)pt Magazine Add Prize Power to 2001 Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards

Cleveland, Ohio-The Ohio Independent Film Festival is honored to have WritersScriptNetwork.com and Scr(i)pt Magazine on-board for the 2001 Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards, among the oldest and most prestigious screenplay awards program in the Midwest. The Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards (OISA) can be your ticket to a real writing career. Over the years, winning screenplays have been optioned, other winners have been produced into full-length feature films; additionally, some winning writers are now well on their way to professional writing careers.

In keeping with the OISA's focus on supporting writers to real writing careers, one of the new and additional 2001 OISA prizes is promotion by WritersScriptNetwork.com. In the past nine months only, WritersScriptNetwork.com has sold 21 scripts (three of which are scheduled for production this year), gained 33 writers professional representation, and assisted three new writers into professional writing work. Another new and additional prize is a subscription to Scr(i)pt Magazine, every writer's connection to the professional industry.

Other prizes include $1,000 cash, a screenplay reading at Script Mill- the Ohio Independent Film Festival's professional screenplay reading program, and-most importantly-the introduction to the people who can help your career (e.g., producers of major motion pictures in Hollywood).

To qualify for our regular submission fee of $40/per screenplay, submissions must be postmarked by May 15, 2001. Late submissions may be postmarked until June 1, 2001; different fees apply.
