Objective
The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting is a vital program that identifies and nurtures talented emerging screenwriters.The program will now exclusively partner with global university programs, screenwriting labs and filmmaker programs to identify potential Nicholl fellows.
Each partner will vet and submit scripts for consideration for an Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and the Black List will serve as a portal for public submissions.
All scripts submitted by partners will be read and reviewed by Academy members.

Nicholl Fellows Update
Writer-director Raymond De Felitta (Nicholl '91) saw his TWO FAMILY HOUSE receive the dramatic Audience Award at the recently completed Sundance Film Festival. This marks the first time a film screened in the noncompetitive American Spectrum festival segment has won an audience award.
Jeffrey Eugenides (N '86) saw the American premiere of Sofia Coppola's adaptation of his novel THE VIRGIN SUICIDES.
Ehren Kruger (N '96) has two films he wrote opening in February -- SCREAM 3 on Friday and REINDEER GAMES on the 24th. He also wrote the production draft of TEXAS RANGERS, which is slated to open later this year.
Susannah Grant (N '92) has two films slated for Spring release -- ERIN BROCKOVICH and 28 DAYS.
Randall McCormick (N '87) is the co-writer of Fox's animated epic TITAN A.E., which is supposed to open in the Summer.
Andrew Marlowe (N '92) has THE HOLLOW MAN slated for release later in the year.
Plus, 1998 Nicholl winner Mike Rich hopes that his FINDING FORESTER begins production this month as scheduled with Gus Van Zant directing and Sean Connery starring.
