Joel Schumacher, Evan Cavic & CAA Agent Jeremy Plager Join the 2013 Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition

Acclaimed Hollywood Director Joel Schumacher and literary manager Evan Cavic (Principato-Young) have joined the 4th Annual Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition Judge's Panel. Together, they will select and meet the winner of this year's Eli Richbourg Grand Prize Award.

Mr. Schumacher, who has led a successful Hollywood career spanning over 40 years and 30 films is best known for directing such Hollywood blockbusters as St. Elmo's Fire, A Time to Kill, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever and Phantom of the Opera to name a few. He most recently directed two episodes of the highly regarded Netflix series House Of Cards starring Academy Award Winner Kevin Spacey.

Evan Cavic, a top literary manager at leading Management Production Company Principato Young Entertainment, represents a list of exciting new up and coming writers and directors. The company, best known for their A-list talent and film and TV packaging have set up dozens of projects with studios and networks, and represent the likes of John Travolta, Vigo Mortenson, screenwriter Jeremy Garelick (The Hangover), and director John Chu ( G.I. Joe).

Creative Artists Agency talent agent, Jeremy Plager, will also meet the Grand Prize Winner for an informational meeting at CAA's LA offices. CAA is the largest talent agency in the world representing the best actors, actresses, writers, directors, musicians, and sports athletes from around the globe. Jeremy's client list includes some of the hottest actresses working in Hollywood today including Jennifer Lawrence and Mila Kunis.

Fresh Voices Chairman, Joel Mendoza, welcomed the additions. "We are truly excited to have such a wealth of Hollywood experience joining this year's competition, and to be able to offer that knowledge first hand, directly to our winners. This is a truly unique, once in a lifetime career opportunity for any writer."

Founded in 2009, the Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition has discovered and helped launch the careers of several new Hollywood screenwriters. Most notably, Bill Balas who optioned his winning script Already Gone in 2010. Shawn Ashmore (X:Men 1,2,3,4) subsequently became attached to star. Bill is now a writer for the hit A&E series The Bates Motel and is represented by Principato-Young Ent. In 2013, Fresh Voices helped screenwriter Moutaz Jad to set up his winning script, Megalopolis, with MPower Pictures (Machine Gun Preacher), and last year's Grand Prize Winner Stephen M. Hunt is currently negotiating an option for his award winning screenplay Precious Vengeance.

The 2013 Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition is accepting entries until November 7th and gives away over $20,000 in cash & prizes plus consideration by leading Hollywood Production Companies. This year Fresh Voices has named the Grand Prize Award in honor of filmmaker Eli Richbourg, who passed away suddenly earlier this year, and will donate a portion of the competition proceeds to the Eli Richbourg Memorial Fund.
