Objective
We champion the struggling independent Auteur who literally does it all or who gathers a close team who contributes what's needed to get their movie make. By having in attendance, mediamakers from all across the U.S. and Canada and by bringing in experienced and award winning directors, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers and stunt professionals to conduct workshops and discussion groups, thus sharing their knowledge, we are paving the way for an independent movie explosion in Oklahoma. This 4-day film festival will primarily focus on the Screenwriter and the need for making transitions. ScreenWriter-Director, Actor-ScreenWriter, Actor-Producer, Cinematographer-Editor, are just a few of the hyphenates we encounter.
Rules
Budget projection meets 'bare bones' criteria. Bare Bones is defined as budgets of five million dollars or less. "No frills"-"No Waste". Standard screenplay structure/format, rights to project, not currently optioned. Oklahoma locales are eligible for special OK Soil Award. We accept all genres, with special interest towards thrillers, horror, sci-fi, and Romantic Narratives.Awards
Finalists eligible for a live screenplay reading during the festival. 1st look for possible production from several independent producers and production companies. No cash awards available at this time. Other prizes awarded by event sponsors.Bare Bones
