Objective
Do you have a great family or holiday script that's ready for the industry?
We're seeking classic and genre-busting family or holiday material in the feature and tv pilot categories. Submit your script to be considered for either the standard or genre busting Grand Prize placements.
You don’t need a genre-busting project to submit.
This contest is a celebration of traditional and idiosyncratic family narratives. To that end, one Grand Prize will be given to a straightforward holiday or family piece while another will be given to a genre-busting family or holiday story.
What is a genre-busting family film?
Was E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL about an alien visitor or a family drama that explored a child’s understanding of the world? How is it that INSIDE OUT can be so wondrous, yet so relatable to people of all ages? And would you call THE PRINCESS BRIDE a fantasy, a romance, a comedy, or a family story involving a grandfather and his son?
These are the questions one asks when presented with a family or holiday film that breaks the conventions of its genre. Show More
