Born in 1996, Mahta Hosseini is an Iranian filmmaker, video artist and Screenwriter. She is currently studying English literature at Azad University of Tehran and she is researching the connection between cinema and literature. She started writing at nine by writing comic books and wrote novels and screenplays in high school. In 2017 she and two of her friends made their first film “Avalanche” which was officially selected by Cortonero Film Festival Italy.

In 2017 she and two of her friends made their first film “Avalanche” which was officially selected by Cortonero Film Festival Italy. In 2018, she was invited to Festival de Cannes 2018 as a young cinephile and filmmaker; She is highly inspired by poetry and it is reflected in her works of art. In 2018 she made an experimental film “Wherever I am, let me be; the sky is mine.” (which is officially selected by Unseen Festival a part of counterpath organization in Denver, Colorado and OGA video art exhibition in Rome, Italy and is going to be screened there for one year beside a photography project for which she was the art director and Fic-Silente festival Mexico and Cyfest 12 video art exhibition in Brooklyn, New York.) she depicts Sohrab Sepehri’s poem of the same name with a poetic vision and shows how limitless humanity is just as the sky. She was also the art director of a photography project called “our hand did not reach each other “which is based on Fereydoun Moshiri poem of the same name followed by her researchers of the connection between cinema, art and literature. In late 2018 she made another film named “the night” which is a depiction of a woman’s night in life, an expirience of fear and insecurity that women around the world go through. She focused on conveying the feeling beside telling a story. Her latest short script named “One window is enough to see “is based on Forough Farokhzad (Iranian Avant guard female poet) poem of the same name and she tells the story of a boy ’s life named Jake (the original version is in Persian but the names were changed for the readers convenience). She tries to show the power of love of mankind and bring the message of love and peace in this script.
